Profyle

The Shreveport, LA, vocal quartet Profyle consists of a pair of brothers and cousins who grew up together, inspired by the success and positive message of groups like Boyz II Men.

They began performing at local talent shows and caught the attention of a promoter during one performance, who introduced them to their future manager, Musa Moore. Moore had the group record their demo tape with producer V. Jeffrey Smith; this tape made its way to Kedar Massenburg, president of Motown Records, who offered Profyle a record contract. The group's debut album, Whispers in the Dark, followed in 1999.

Mista

Mista is four mega-talented teens from the R&B world’s brightest hot corner, Atlanta Georgia, whose masterful vocal chops and unabashed emotion belie their young ages. Whether soulfully spilling over with an exotic groove like the soon-to-be smash “Blackberry Molasses,” or giving it up on the heart wrenching “Tears, Scars, and Lies,” or laying down the funky gauntlet of “What About Us,” Mista is letting it be known right from the start that they’re a group to be reckoned with.

Darryl Allen, Bobby Wilson, Brandon Brown, and Byron Reeder, represent Mista in all their glowing harmonies. The group is already drawing comparisons to R&B legends such as Boyz II Men and New Edition. Formed and managed by “09 Lives” production wizard Eric Johnston and EEG A&R director Ian Burke, the self-titled debut album was executive produced by the renowned production team, Organized Noize, ( which includes Patrick Brown, Raymond Murray and Rico Wade) producers of TLC’s classic “Waterfall”. Speaking for the talented team, Rico raves about Mista’s potential: ” Mista has all the elements to take off like a TLC. They have an earnestness and an innocence in their style that comes across so effectively it immediately makes the kids out there want to call them their own.”

Playa

Playa is an American R&B trio. Comprised of members , Smokey, Black, and the late Steve "Static" Garrett, Playa is best known for their 1998 hit album, "Cheers 2 U", produced by longtime collaborator Timbaland. Static is notable for being a successful songwriter of hit singles and album tracks for artists such as Ginuwine, Aaliyah, Truth Hurts, and Brandy.

The three members of Playa all originate from Louisville, Kentucky, and styled their act after R&B stars Jodeci. After impressing Jodeci member DeVante Swing by imprompu a cappella versions of Jodeci songs backstage after a Jodeci concert, Playa was signed to DeVante's Swing Mob label with Elektra Records. Other members of Swing Mob were young hopefuls such as Missy Elliott, Timbaland & Magoo, Ginuwine, Tweet, and Renee Anderson. By 1996, most of the Swing Mob artists--Playa included--had left DeVante for better luck elsewhere. They participated in the production of Jodeci's The Show, The After Party, The Hotel album in 1995
